There was a train that
went by Tina's house where they used to live in Decatur. The train kept her
awake at night, but she learned to sleep through it. She said that after she
had her first child, she found that she could sleep through the thundering train
but would wake up if her son coughed. She was struck by how incredible that
God made us with such sensitivities!
"Of course," she said, "that's just a small part of His glory..."
Psalm
139:13-18
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my
mother's womb. Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship
is marvelous--and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in
utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me
before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment
was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are Your thoughts
about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can't even count them; they outnumber
the grains of sand!
How can
I sleep through a train, wake up to the sound of a baby's cry?
How can the earth spin around, stars hold up in an endless sky?
I do not know what day it is... I do not know what hour it is...in eternity
You are
Marvelous! Oh! You are Glorious! Oh!
You're behind every minute, every breath that I take
When I open my mouth, the words that I can say
You are Marvelous! Oh! You are Glorious! Oh!
There's
a sound I can hear when I'm alone and I shut my eyes
It's my heart beating out, You created me, and now I'm alive!
I do not know what day it is; I do not know what hour it is...in eternity
You are
Marvelous! Oh! You are Glorious! Oh!
You're behind every minute, every breath that I take
When I open my mouth, the words I want to say
You are Marvelous! Oh! You are Glorious! Oh!
