An old hymn
written at the beginning of the 1900's... Unchanging God - what a concept...
God doesn't forget, lose concentration, change His train of thought, get too
busy, re-evaluate, or change value systems. Nothing happens that catches God
off-guard, and He never has to resort to plan "B." God never discovers
a new idea, never "turns the page" to a new revelation - all of
history is completely and eternally before Him. God is the same - today, yesterday,
and tomorrow...
Ephesians
1:3-6
How we praise God, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with
every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ.
Long ago, even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ
to be holy and without fault in His eyes. His unchanging plan has always been
to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ.
So we praise God for the wonderful kindness He has poured out on us because
we belong to His dearly loved Son.
Hebrews
6:1
So let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us
go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to
start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and
placing our faith in God.
Hebrews
6:18-19
So God has given us both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable
because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him
for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to His promise with confidence.
This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.
Hebrews
13:7-8
Remember your leaders who first taught you the word of God. Think of all the
good that has come from their lives, and trust the LORD as they do. Jesus Christ
is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
